Exhaust Mounts

The disturbing agents, produced by the exhaust pipes of engines, are essentially:  noises transmitted through the air  (air-borne sound) and noises transmitted through the structure  (structure-borne sound).
The structure-borne sound, which propagate through the structure from the connection points of the exhaust pipes,  can be reduced with a correct resilient mountings application.  The choice of resilient mountings and their applications must be provided in an early stage of ship design and on the basis of their characteristics.
